Mediation Reminder, Undergrad Appreciation, Board of Trustees Tour, and $100,000 !!
Hi everyone,
We hope you had a restful weekend and thank you again for those who came out to our General Body Meeting on Saturday night. It was an informative meeting and we will continue our conversations in caucuses and in Wednesday’s GBM as well.
Round 3 of the Hardship Fund closed over the weekend and disbursements are being sent out. We are thrilled to share that we disbursed $100,000 (!!) this round. If you haven’t heard from us or have any questions, feel free to reach out to the Hardship Fund Committee. Round 4 is now open through December 25th at 11:59pm. You can apply here.
We have another mediation session with Kevin today at 12:00 pm. You can join mediation on this link and caucus on this link at 11:30 am.
We are so grateful for the support of our undergraduate allies throughout the strike. To say thanks, today is undergrad appreciation day at the picket line. We will have 5+ fantastic undergrad speakers at the 2:00 pm rally.
This week’s picket schedule looks a little different. We thought it was about time we paid a visit to some of the members of Columbia’s Board of Trustees to hold them accountable for the lack of support and protections student workers receive. Tuesday we are going to Midtown to say hello to BoT co-chairs Jonathan Lavine at Bain Capital and Lisa Carnoy of AlixPartners. Then we’ll stop by Ogden Cap to see Abigail Elbaum. Wednesday we’re going to Battery Park to see trustee David Greenwald at Fried Frank. Set your alarm clock early on Thursday for the live taping of Good Morning America (7:00-9:00 am) where Claire Shipman is a senior correspondent. Meet up on campus to travel together or join us there!
We look forward to seeing you in mediation or at the picket line this week!
In solidarity,
Your bargaining committee
