Week 9: Mediation, Events, Strike Funds

Hi everyone,

We hope you had a warm and restful couple of days.

Tomorrow we return to the mediation table meeting primarily with Kevin at 4:30pm [link here] with a caucus at 4pm [link here]. Due to the timing of this session, our GBM will be at 5pm on Wednesday this week [link here].

Round 4 of the Hardship Fund is now closed, disbursements will be going out in the next day or two so keep an eye on your inbox. Round 5 is now open, you can apply here. Don’t hesitate to reach out to the Hardship Fund with any questions or concerns. As a reminder, we have put together a $$$ FAQ in an attempt to get all of your questions answered. If you are not receiving UAW money, need to apply for an exemption, or have any other questions related to the UAW Strike Fund, email columbiagradunion@gmail.com.

Because of the holiday week, we are waiving the hour requirement for the UAW Strike Fund. Of course, we encourage you to attend mediation, caucuses, the GBM, and digital picket, but we hope this helps alleviate any anxiety about meeting the hour requirement this week.

Stay tuned for more information on a Recognition Rally / Ask Us Anything event (which will be open to faculty) this week to help us on our last leg of our strike.

In solidarity,

Your bargaining and communications committees
